西アフリカのトーゴ共和国は綿花・コーヒー・ココアの輸出が主産業となる、農業立国です。ドイツの友人であるローランド・シュトルム氏とお嬢様のジモーネ・バーズさんが建設した、現地の小学校で、生徒たちが音楽文化を育めるよう、管楽器を寄贈し支援しています。

Dear Friends in Togo and Hannover

I always believe in music that makes people happy and peaceful. When I learned that Roland Sturm and his daughter Simone Bahrs, my very best friends in Germany, initiated the Togo project to provide children school, education and culture, I came up with the idea to support with musical instruments.

This is my privilege to be a part of this activity and hope the fund will be of some fruitful help for children in Togo who experience music.

2018年11月、トーゴの学校に新しい校舎が完成しました。セレモニーでは、寄贈させていただいた楽器を中心に構成されたブラスバンドが、演奏を披露し、華を添えました。
