Zemaitis 1982 E/G 6st CUSTOM DELUXE WHITE SNAKE
ホワイト・スネイクに加入したばかりのミッキー・ムーディーが、工房で出来上がった本器をもって、ワールドツアーに参加、日本のステージでも観衆を沸かせた。リック・パーフィットや、ジェームズ・ハニーマン・スコットのドラゴン・インレイトップとおなじテンプレートから作りだされているLPを少し小ぶりにした、シングルカッタウエイ・デザインに、“つちのこ”のような、白蛇がレイアウトされ、ギブソンのヴィンテージ・ステッカード・ハンバッカー一基搭載という、ロックな仕様。ヘビのうろこ模様は、貝を掘り込んで、木目用フィラーを刷り込んだあと、ラッカーで仕上げられている。もともとは、パールホワイトであったが、エイジングによりラッカーに黄ばみがかかり、ゴールドの様相を呈している。ロッドカバーには、1982年Englandとあり、そのエングレイヴの細かさをみると、テールピースの彫金もそうだが、ダニーが、非常に細部にいたって丁寧な仕事をみせているのが興味深い。ウエイト約9ポンドも、レス･ポールの標準か。あえてガルウイングのフレイムメイプルを選んでいる点、既成のLPのイメージにとらわれないトニーらしさの表れだ。
コケティッシュなスネークのモチーフ ウロコはハンドペイント
Mickey Moody, who had just joined White Snake, went on world tour with this guitar, just out of Tony's workshop, and played for an enthusiastic Japanese audience. A "rock" guitar indeed, made out of the same template as Rick Parfitt's and James Honeyman-Scott's dragon inlay front. Single cutaway, somewhat smaller than a Les Paul, white snake motifs, 1 Gibson vintage stickered humbucker. Snake scales are made of shells that are first carved, then coated with wood-filler, and finally lacquered. Lacquer, yellowish through aging, giving the originally pearl-white scales a golden color. Engraved "1982 England" on rod cover. This, along with the engravings on tailpiece, are interesting examples of Danny's meticulous craftsmanship in every finest details. Weighs 9 lbs., average Les Paul weight. Tony' s deliberate choice of gull-wing flame maple demonstrates that he is free from standards set by Les Paul.
